Help us Celebrate a Century of
Service and Sacrifice!
As we mark the centennial of the modern Foreign Service, ADST is collecting and amplifying the remarkable contributions U.S. diplomats have made in service to the American people. The work of America’s foreign affairs professionals on behalf of our citizens abroad and our farmers, businesses, and workers back home is as varied as it is challenging, with tasks spanning from evacuating our citizens to negotiating treaties and from securing access to markets to defending public health.
In addition to drawing from our collection of more than 2,600 oral histories, we are calling on current and former Foreign Service Officers and other foreign affairs professionals to tell us your stories of how you contributed to the national interest and served the American people. Whether you closed a deal, opened a door, or simply lived up to the ideal that America represents to the rest of the world, we want to share your story!
Send your narrative to ADST at [email protected]. We will weave your story into our Century of Service and Sacrifice public outreach campaign, raising awareness among Americans of the work foreign affairs professionals do on their behalf every day.
We’ll update this website as we compile your narratives and let you know how we are sharing them around the country. Contact us at the CenturyOfService address if you want to help expand the effort. It is time to celebrate diplomacy and the concrete role it plays in advancing the interests of all Americans!
