López, J.K. Amerson
Author and motivational speaker J.K. Amerson López grew up in Latin America, Europe, and Washington, DC, during her father's Foreign Service career. Her memoir EMBASSY KID is her first book. She is currently working on AMSTERDAM STRONG, a memoir about surviving a ruptured aneurysm while on a transatlantic cruise, and A FAMILY FOR KUMBA, the story of her rescue Lab and therapy dog. She is a frequent speaker on her international upbringing, how being strong helped her survive a near-fatal illness, and her insights into the human-dog connection she has witnessed in volunteering with her therapy dog. Following a career in New York State goverment, López retired to South Florida, where she lives with her husband and their Lab, Kumba.
